Tina Fey SNL skit. it's great!!!
Bitches get stuff done! ... Bitch is the new Black!
you go girl!
From her interview with Elle magazine:
A lot of the stuff people say about her, I hear it and my stomach falls because it's so sexist. You ask people why they don't like her and it's because her husband cheated on her! That was obviously not her choice. She's so much more polished and experienced than anyone else. Last night, a friend, a social worker in L.A. who works with underprivileged kids, was saying how these girls who have never been interested in politics before are so excited that a woman might be president. I mean, look how many women are in government...Hillary's one of, what, [a handful of] female senators?
I also like Obama. I even like McCain. I disagree with his war stance--which is a really big deal--but I think he's a very moral person. I met him and Hillary on the same day, actually, when I went to Washington with Finca [a nonprofit that gives loans to businesswomen in developing countries]. Hillary was by far the smartest person I met that day. Just totally focused, and knew more about the issues than anyone else, and was so able to go from one thing to the other.
101 year old Lenore Brieger and 91 old Jewell Hodges "Polished like gold"
Jewell Hodges said: She didn't know it but I have followed her (Hillary) all of these years. I was up to the first inauguration and I want that experience again. However, I followed her career and I followed her. I prayed with her when she didn't know I was praying but the spirit was there.
But she had to climb up the rough side of the mountain in life when it kind of gave her that tumble. I saw her take her faith and the fruits of her divine guidance of courage, strength, and dignity, discipline, patience, and climb that mountain with determination and with the God given strength she got to the top polished like gold. And went on to prove her success in her own right to become our senator of today.
Now, why did I decide to vote for her? I'm elated that I lived to see the opportunity that America has decided to be responsive and acceptable to not only a female but an Afro-American. But I looked past all of that and I decided to look at what really our needs are. America our country is down at the foot of the mountain and we need someone that has the experience and is ready, willing, and able to bring America back up to be polished like gold.
This campaign, thought up by the inimitable Red Queen, is a public expression of the outrage that many of us feel at the hatred directed at Senator Hillary Rodham Clinton. I, as both a Hillary Clinton supporter, and as a person who realizes that these attacks are not just about Hillary but about me, am taking this moment to stand and say that I am Hillary Clinton.
When Senator Clinton is criticized as "negative," or "ambitious," or any of the other traits necessarily shared by all politicians, it is a reminder that should I ever achieve success, the qualities necessary for that success will be used to discredit me.
When Senator Clinton is singled out for unpopular or difficult positions held by both candidates, it is not only a distortion of the political facts, but it is also an unquestioned acceptance and perpetuation of the cultural maxim that says "a woman must be twice as good to receive half as much credit as a man." It is a reminder that no matter what I do, I will not be good enough.
I will not be shamed or frightened by these tactics. I support Senator Clinton. I stand behind her with ferocity and pride.
I am Hillary Clinton.
